With her fiery butterflies from Proven Guilty (Dresden Files Book 7, I believe) that immediately demanded art-making. No spoilers. Just the Summer Lady of faerie, via my head.
Dude. AWESOME. I really like the effect of the butterflies being something less than solid, and more a construct, an imagining of a butterfly, if you will.
Oh, and thank God there's someone else out there who has actually read the books. I'm rather making it my duty to get everyone I know to read them. That, and I'm trying to figure out how to write a plausible crossover with Dresden and Supernatural. :-)
The fact that you posted with a due South icon makes me love you instantly, my good Pastels. :D
And thanks! In my head, I pictured the butterflies as being purple, which I dunno if it's actually in the book that their purple or I just went there on my own. Unfortunately, purple fire isn't as nice looking as regular fire, so I modified my design a bit. I sort of like the idea of one of these following Harry through faerie, protecting him. They're so cute!
I have read all the books now and am very sad that there aren't anymore until April. I got my friend into them too and she is currently working on getting everyone at her work to read them too. I haven't seen my books in months. She's converted, like, twenty people to Firefly, so I'm sure she can get them on Dresden Files too. ;-)
Converting people to the Browncoat cause is a remarkably easy proposition; easier, I would say, than converting them to a series of novels (people just aren't patient enough to read, much to my dismay). Yeah, I know what you mean about going through Dresden withdrawl; the series, though awesome, was only the length of a midseason replacement, and of course we have to gnaw on our fingers in wait for the next book. Which, BTW, has a little blurb on Mr. Butcher's site, as of now, and a cover art spoiler. GAH. Can it be April already please?
Oh, and, honestly, if you haven't seen Supernatural, go forth and watch. Seriously. You'll love it to tiny pieces.
I have seen Supernatural and while I do enjoy watching the boys, it's not something I actively seek out and watch. I catch it when I'm flipping through the channels. I do see the potential crossover possibilities, though, and will be interested to see what you come up with. :D
